Length of Surgery

The amount of time that it takes to perform this surgery will depend on each patient’s individual circumstances. The surgical time will vary based on the size, location, type of parotid tumor, and type of surgery being performed.

It is not unusual for the patient’s family members and friends to worry if the surgery takes longer than they had anticipated. It is important that the patient, family, and friends have realistic expectations for how long the entire surgical process might take.

It is also important to remember that the surgery does not start immediately after the patient says goodbye to their loved ones. There are many procedures that must be followed to get the patient and the operating room ready for the operation.

It also takes time for the patient to be put under anesthesia and will take time for the patient to wake up from the anesthesia after surgery, which may add to the overall amount of time that the patient will be separated from their loved ones.
