Recovery after Superficial Parotidectomy

In general, patients who just have a superficial parotidectomy have minimal side effects.

Some patients do not have any facial weakness at all after surgery, and some patients may have temporary weakness of the facial muscles because the facial nerves will be traumatized during surgery, which could result in weakness to the corner of the mouth, eyebrow, or eyelid.
