Fullness/Pressure in Ear
Many patients will have an ear sensation, such a feeling of fullness or pressure in their ear. This can be caused by post-surgical swelling in the ear.
This sensation can also occur when trace amounts of skin, and/or sterilization residue that is used to clean the ear during surgery gets inside the ear canal and forms a thin layer over the ear drum, which can impact hearing.
It is also possible that some blood can get in the ear canal during surgery and can affect hearing. A patient can ask their physician to clean the debris or blood out of their ear, which may improve their hearing issues.
